Prophet Sulaiman (AS) and the Ants: A Story of Wisdom and Compassion
The Story:
Many years ago, Allah (SWT) sent a great prophet named Sulaiman (AS). He was not only a prophet but also a mighty king blessed with many special gifts. One of these gifts was the ability to understand the language of animals and insects — including the tiny ants!
The Journey
One day, Prophet Sulaiman (AS) was leading his huge army through a valley. His army included humans, jinn, horses, elephants, birds, and many other creatures. As they approached a valley full of ants, something amazing happened.
The Ant’s Warning
A female ant noticed the approaching army and shouted to her fellow ants:
“O ants, enter your dwellings so that you do not get crushed by Sulaiman and his soldiers while they are unaware.”
(Qur’an, Surah An-Naml 27:18)
The ants quickly scurried into their homes to avoid being harmed by the massive army passing through.
Sulaiman’s Reaction
When Prophet Sulaiman (AS) heard the ant’s warning, he smiled gently and thanked Allah for the blessing of understanding their speech.
He appreciated the ants’ wisdom and their care for one another, even though they were small and seemingly insignificant.
The Lesson
This story teaches us many things:
-
Even the smallest creatures matter in Allah’s creation.
